Forest Gnome Tales 4.

Skovnisse fortællinger 4.

"Hold on tight there sons!" farmer Jim is shouting driving the tractor. "This is a rather uneven ground. We are now visiting the forest gnomes living in our big forest all year round, except during the winter where they are staying in this cabin." He explains to his sons pointing out the forest gnomes cabin. "You might have seen them when you play in the woods?" He wants to know. "Of course we have," answers farmer Jim`s sons in chorus. "We have seen their cats too," the one son concludes.

"Her er ret ujævnt.

"Farmer Jim! How is everything on your farm?" Gorm exclaims. "The business is fine and my family is happy," answers farmer Jim sitting in the forest gnomes one and only chair. "Thyra! this cake is very good." he adds. "Thank you farmer Jim," Thyra exclaims "You can eat as much as you like." "Cat! we have seen you before," farmer Jim`s one son whispers to the ginger tabby cat who stretches out. "We have met," the cat answers silently.

"Bondemand Jim!

"You are a very nice cat," farmer Jim`s son exclaims petting the ginger tabby cat. "You are a very nice boy," The ginger cat answers silently though he don`t expect farmer Jim`s son to understand what he is saying. Do you have any cats on your dad`s farm? the ginger tabby cat silently asks farmer Jim`s son, who suddenly out of the blue understands the cat language. "Absolutely!" farmer Jims son shouts. We have a lot of cats, but they are bigger than you cats here by the forest gnomes," he concludes.

"Farmer Jim is such a nice man." exclaims Gertrud (wearing a red dress). Gro (wearing a yellow dress) agrees. "I just wish he had brought his wife," Frida (wearing a checked dress) adds. "She is such a nice lady," she concludes. "Do you think farmer Jim brings any food?" the ginger cat silently asks the tortie coloured cat, who just narrows his eyes, which means: "Sadly no."

"This tractor can really pull,"thinks Frode while he seizes the opportunity to climb the vehicle. "I would be happy to have one like this for my work in the forest," he concludes. Farmer Jim eagerly drinking coffee and talking to the forest gnomes has his back to the tractor and don't notice Frodes interest in his vehicle.

"Farmer Jim! we are sending our regards to your wife and parents wishing them happy Winter Solstice." Gorm Frida and Thyra exclaim with one mouth. "Thank you so much" answers farmer Jim. "They are also sending regards to all of you dear friends wishing you happy Winter Solstice." he adds.

"Farmer Jim! Your tractor is formidable," exclaims Frode. "I looked at it before," he adds. "Thank you!" answers farmer Jim. "You are free to borrow it for your work in the forest if you like," he adds surprising Frode. "That would be my biggest wish come true," exclaims Frode very happy.
"My only wish is a small waterhole," exclaims the one green frog. "Mine too," answers the second green frog. "Unfortunately the waterholes will soon be frozen," he concludes thoughtfully. "We could ask the forest gnomes for a bucket of water instead," suggests the one green frog with a loud frog voice for the forest gnomes to hear.

"Bondemand Jim! din traktor er formidabel," udbryder Frode. "Jeg kiggede på den før," tilføjer han. "Tak skal du have!" svarer bondemand Jim.

"Gorm! we understand cat language. Can we come and visit you again soon?" ask farmer Jim`s sons with one mouth. "We love being here talking with your cats." they add. "Of course you can anytime," answers Gorm. "We and the cats love to have you visiting."

Gorm Astrid (wearing a blue dress with flower ribbons) Frida and Gertrud are saying goodby to farmer Jim and his sons. "We are sending our love to your wife and parents hoping to see them soon" they shout watching farmer Jim and his sons mounting the tractor.

"Good bye everyone!" shout farmer Jim and his sons in chorus from the tractor while they are fast driving out into the forest. "Good bye cats we`all miss you!" shout farmer Jim's sons waving their hands. "Hold on tight!" shouts farmer Jim. "We don`t want you to drop off the tractor and hit your heads," he adds in a kind voice.
